Finding a doctor

We mentioned earlier in this blog that we did a survey on the problems being faced by people in the health care domain. More than 50% of the people who responded said that they have often faced trouble while trying to find a doctor/specialist in their area or finding the contact details of a particular doctor/physician.

Now, why should this be the case? There are a huge number of sites that give you this information in the US. Why not in India? Why are there no good sites that give you this information? Some sites are present like Medindia, Indmedica, Sulekha, Guruji, etc. But we will leave it to the reader to decide the usability of the current sides. People who replied to the survey (and we covered a lot of cities like Gurgaon, Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad) definitely had issues finding a doctor or a physician details/listing/contact online.

What is needed seems to be a easy and clean search interface. Also there should be an overall listing of the doctors, easily searchable using a city/area name, and an easy way to filter the results. We at meraMD have some ideas on how to get this done. Keep watching the home page.
